At Family of Warriors, we are committed to providing support and resources for first responders and their families affected by Post-Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI). Our aim is to create a safe and supportive community where individuals can heal and thrive, while working together to raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with PTSI.

To achieve this goal, we work with a variety of programs and services that are tailored specifically for first responders and their families. Some of the programs we offer include:

  • Peer support: We provide peer support groups for first responders and their families. These groups provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to share their experiences and connect with others who understand the challenges they are facing.
  • Counseling with community providers: We work with community providers such as licensed counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists to provide therapy and counseling services to first responders and their families. This allows us to provide a comprehensive approach to addressing the effects of PTSI.

All of our programs and services are designed to provide hope and healing for first responders and their families affected by PTSI. We understand that every individual is unique, and we strive to provide personalized support and resources to meet the specific needs of each person. We believe that by providing a variety of programs and services that address the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of first responders and their families, we can help them to overcome the effects of PTSI and lead fulfilling lives.

Meet The Team

Travis Palmer

Travis Palmer

President / Founder

Travis is a United States Air Force Veteran and a retired Arizona State Trooper. After dedicating his career to serving and protecting his community, Travis retired from the Arizona Department of Public Safety and like many other first responders, he was struggling with the numerous traumatic events that occurred during his professional career.

Determined to overcome the challenges he was facing, Travis sought professional help and found his passion in helping other first responders who were struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. In order to continue his own healing journey, he started a support group for active and retired first responders, where they can come together to share similar experiences and challenges.

Through his own journey of healing, Travis found that the power of community and support is essential for first responders and their families to overcome the effects of trauma. With this in mind, he founded Family of Warriors which provides support, resources, and hope for first responders and their families affected by PSTD.

Travis is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive community where first responders and their families can heal and thrive. He understands the unique challenges that first responders and their families face, and his goal is to help them find hope and healing through community, support, and understanding.

Mike Fields

Mike Fields

Vice President / Founder

Mike is co-founder of Family of Warriors and a second-generation highway patrolman, giving him the unique perspective of both a family member and a first responder.

Mike served four years in the United States Air Force as a medic before becoming a police officer. After the tragic events on 9/11, Mike returned to the Air Force where he served two tours in combat as both a medic and as a security forces team member.

Unfortunately, upon return from his last deployment, Mike was involved in a serious on-duty motorcycle collision as part of a presidential motorcade. The accident resulted in a traumatic brain injury, which ultimately ended his police career. After being diagnosed with PTS/TBI, Mike began a journey of management and recovery, which lasted for ten years. This period allowed Mike to develop the tools for understanding and learning to cope with the effects of trauma.

Mike found a passion for helping other veterans with their challenges in recovery through mentorship and participation in numerous retreats and events. He also found a niche in the local community by providing Pro Bono legal assistance to veterans, submitting disability claims and assisting fellow veterans to obtain benefits.

Mike has found success, strength and humility in the discipline of putting God and his word first in his life, remaining at the side of his wife Carla for over 30 years, raising their four sons, and serving the local and extended community. This has led him to co-found Family of Warriors to provide hope and healing for the painfully underserved community of first responders.

Mike is a lifelong learner and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in management and a Juris Doctorate. He is dedicated to providing support and resources for first responders and their families who are suffering from PTSI, and is a true advocate for the community.
